USCCB 348x350 150x150Our Parish joins the Historic V Encuentro in the USA

On June 9, 2013 in San Diego, CA, The USCCB’s Subcommittee on Hispanic Affairs convened pastoral leaders of the Hispanic/Latino community to engage again in the process of Encuentro. The V Encuentro was convened in the context of the New Evangelization and emphasized the importance of involving young, second and third generation Hispanics/Latinos. Bishops Arturo Cepeda, Gerald Barnes, Nelson Pérez and Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller were elected by the Subcommittee to lead the Encuentro process and it has been an amazing journey ever since.  As of date, 14 Episcopal Regions are being represented in this V Encuentro process; 175 dioceses around the Country; 5,000 parishes and over 1,000,000 people!

Our Parish, together with 15 other parishes in the Diocese of Bridgeport, is joining this V Encuentro process and we are looking forward to living this new pastoral experience that is expected to bring renewal to our local communities of faith. We are very grateful to our Bishop, Frank J. Caggiano, for this amazing opportunity and we pray for guidance and support. Please join us in asking Our Lord for the grace of being faithful Missionary Disciples to our comunnities and to the whole world, indeed.
